Website Envy

Website-Envy

What Is Website Envy?

Website envy is that feeling of looking at another business’ website and thinking, “Darn, I wish MY site looked like that!”. The truth is most of us have been there.

However, you don’t have too far to go to find FLAMTASTIC high-converting websites.

So, what sets these sites apart and what can you do to make your site catch all the right attention (hopefully website envy)?

It’s a combination of a lot of things. Here’s a checklist to make it easier for you.

Dos & Don’ts for a FLAMTASTIC Website

DO:

  • Obsess about your audience – know their pain points and how you uniquely solve them
  • Dial in on your brand strategy to guide the tone, feel, and overall look of your site
  • Tell your brand story and your big WHY
  • Use clear, compelling calls-to-action (CTAs) in a contrasting color
  • Prioritize the user experience and create a clear path with easy navigation
  • Write clear, concise, and benefit-focused copy (think more “you” vs “we” and mix it up with top, middle, and bottom of the funnel content)
  • Show your work through case studies and testimonials
  • Incorporate SEO practices but write for humans (not robots )
  • Above else, seek an objective perspective and advice from a trusted marketing expert (someone who can call your “baby” ugly and knows how to fix it)

DON’T:

  • Overcrowd pages with too much information and long blocks of content
  • Use complex jargon or technical language unfamiliar to your prospects
  • Neglect mobile users
  • Have slow-loading pages
  • Use generic stock photos
  • Ignore accessibility standards
  • Forget to include contact information
  • Seek advice from just ‘anyone’ or try to wing itn

PRO-TIP: Hiring an external agency will help you save time (and money) trying to figure everything out. We have a signature process to launch your website in 10 weeks (of course, timeline is subject to client approvals).
